The Challenge
Golf Pod required a lighting solution that could support the performance needs of a modern short-range practice concept, while remaining suitable for urban and residential settings where light control is critical.
The system needed to provide effective visibility for both play and tracking technology, help minimise light spill beyond the site boundary and support extended evening use.
With Golf Pod planning to expand across multiple locations, the solution also needed to be practical and repeatable, creating a lighting approach that could be deployed consistently across future sites.
Our Solution
Exled Golf developed a bespoke lighting approach for Golf Pod, balancing tracking performance, light containment and after-dark usability.
To meet the specific requirements of the concept, we created a new version of our GALAXY-XMC fitting with an asymmetric beam angle. This allowed the system to deliver sufficient light forward into the playing area while helping reduce glare towards neighbouring properties and tightly control spill around the extents of the Golf Pod.
Each system is fitted with ZigBee dimming, giving the operator greater on-site control where lighting levels need to be adjusted for planning, operational or residential considerations.
Extensive on-site testing was carried out with the Golf Pod team to confirm that Toptracer tracking performance remained effective across a range of lighting outputs.
Exled Golf continues to provide lighting design and planning support across new Golf Pod venues, helping create a solution that is practical, repeatable and suitable for future expansion.
