Ellerslie Driving Range in Auckland, New Zealand, faced strict planning requirements. Light spill into nearby housing estates was not permitted, and local authorities were particularly concerned about wildlife preservation.
The range needed dimmable-on-demand lighting with an appropriate wildlife-friendly spectrum, while maintaining the illumination required for evening play.
The GALAXY 3TX-V1 was selected for its precise glare control and wireless dimming functions.
Lighting simulation plots prepared before installation showed an even distribution of light. The proposed performance was verified by independent consultants.
The completed lighting met the planning department’s requirements, allowing the range to resume normal evening opening hours while maintaining the illumination needed for play.
